For six and a half years he has been my best friend, advisor, and better half. I love him more than I could ever describe here. He is a perfect match for me in every sense of the word. I also have two cats. I suppose I love them but they certainly do their best to test me on that. WORK: I am a graphic designer and illustrator. I work full time as an in-house graphic designer for a small company near my home, and I enjoy the job immensely because it is challenging, fun, and allows me to be very creative. LIFE'S PASSION: I have been an artist my entire life. As long as I can remember its what I've done and what I've wanted to do with my life. Drawing and painting are a part of who I am. Design is equally important to me, and in some ways I feel I'm better at it, or that it comes easier at any rate. I always have a sketchbook on me, I have a long boring list of achievements in drawing that I've let go in the last ten years, mostly from high school and the beginning of college. I intend to take up fine art again but move in a less commercial direction. I spent 5 or 6 years trying to make it as a self representing artist, but it never went anywhere because I could never focus my talent in any one direction, and to make it in that field you need a strong sense of direction. So I'm on a break for now, though I still do sell paintings and prints on the side. I post a lot of art here. RELIGION AND POLITICS I'm an atheist but I am not super militant about it anymore. Mainly I strive to allow for religious freedom and a seperation of church and state. I feel very strongly about being an atheist and will chew your ear off about it for hours, but its just too stressful to discuss it with friends, relatives, strangers... so I just keep it private, I usually don't discuss it in my journal. I actually don't discuss religion or politics at all unless something really bothers me. I feel equally as strong about politics. I am mostly Libertarian, but I vote Republican for various reasons. I am probably one of the few gay friendly, pro-choice, atheist Republicans in the world (luckily my fiance is too, imagine that!). I guess you could also describe me as a gun-toting, anti-socialist, capitalist Liberal. I definitely don't talk politics because I don't really fit in, as you can see. In the end, I want independence and freedom more than anything, and I am very distrustful of the government and politicians, and the media. Especially the media. I HATE the media. I do love my country. The United States is an amazing country and I'm grateful every day I was born here. I'm proud of who I am and where I live. It has its flaws but the beauty of this country is that it is always changing, and its people have so much more power and freedom than so many other countries. I mean come on, look at the things people say about President Bush- try that in Cuba and see how far it gets you. SENSE OF HUMOR Required for reading this journal. I have a very inappropriate sense of humor. Friending People I am always honored when people add me to their friend's list. Please do not be offended if I do not add you back. The friends I have added are people I've either known for a long time and talk to regularly, or I watch their journals because they post art I enjoy. You wouldn't want to read my locked entries anyway. I use this journal mostly as a catalog of my daily life, so I can look back if need be to figure if and when I did something I need to remember. I post all my art publically as this journal is syndicated to my website as well, and thats probably the only interesting thing in my journal anyway.
